Expand one category. Or all at once.
Expanding months makes your cube view much larger than expected? The drill mode determines whether a nested member expands in one place or across the corresponding categories. Planning Analytics Workspace lets you choose.
The short answer
Choose the mode under Expand/Collapse in the toolbar. Asymmetric expands a nested member in one place. Symmetric expands the same nested member for the other categories as well.

My tip from the video: start with asymmetric drill and switch to symmetric when needed. This helps keep the view manageable.

Which mode is active by default?
IBM documents asymmetric expansion and collapse as the default. Check your current view’s setting before expanding large sections.
Does drilling change my data?
No. You change which hierarchy levels are visible in the view.
How does target selection help?
Target selection lets you select individual nested combinations, such as every quarter for plan but only Q4 for actual.
