Prepare the selector
In the video, I duplicate the chart and change the copy to an exploration. I drag the product dimension onto the canvas to create a selector. The extra exploration can then be removed.

Want to select products and immediately see the corresponding figures in your chart? Connect a selector list to your chart in IBM Planning Analytics Workspace. Synchronization lets you choose which hierarchy responds to the selection.
The short answer
Create a selector list for the hierarchy you need. In the chart, open Properties → Synchronize, enable the relevant hierarchy and hierarchy synchronization. Then check that the chart follows your selection.

Any questions?
Does this only work with pie charts?
No. You can also synchronize other suitable visualizations that use the same hierarchy.
Why does my chart not respond?
Check that the selector and chart use the same hierarchy, synchronization is enabled, and both belong to the appropriate synchronization scope or group.
Do I have to synchronize every hierarchy?
No. Select only the hierarchies that should follow the selection. The example uses the product hierarchy.
