Excel has finally been replaced! The solution in Planning Analytics now allows the automotive supplier to plan and budget its development projects. The individual project and sub-project managers can reliably plan their sub-areas and the Group management finally keeps an overview of the costs.
Workforce planning for more than 2,000 employees had become highly time-consuming. The implemented solution covers hires and departures, salary changes, ancillary labour costs and strict security requirements in one integrated planning environment.
The company now has a fast and comprehensive view of outstanding receivables, responsible employees, debtor assignments and many other operational questions.
More than 300 users around the world can reliably plan workforce requirements and cost-centre budgets. A separate investment module covers the global group’s capital expenditure planning.
From the income statement and balance sheet to cash-flow planning, the company can now plan its finances in an integrated and resource-efficient process.
The reinsurer uses IBM Planning Analytics to plan its insurance business. Its complex data model was substantially extended, and the application is now used globally.
The real-estate group had used IBM Planning Analytics for several years without realising its full potential. I changed that.
The system was comprehensively redesigned and is now considerably faster, more stable and more capable. The team also received extensive training and can now create PAW dashboards and PAfE reports independently.

Over the past several years, I have specialised in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). Since 2023, I have worked as an independent consultant, supporting clients across the full range of Planning Analytics requirements.
I have extensive experience with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), gained at both avantum consult AG and virtivity GmbH. At these consultancies, I planned and delivered Planning Analytics projects in roles including developer, solution architect and project manager. Supporting clients across a wide range of industries has given me broad insight into different data models, processes and business requirements.
Over time, I have built a network of Planning Analytics specialists, including consultancies and independent professionals. This allows me to bring in additional functional or technical expertise when required and to assist with licensing arrangements. As an independent consultant, I value a strong professional community whose members share knowledge and support one another.
