Display the view as a pie chart
Open a book under Reports and Analysis and add your prepared cube view. Then choose Pie as the visualization type.
IBM PLANNING ANALYTICS · VISUALIZATION · PIE CHART
How is your sales volume distributed across regions? A pie chart makes proportions of a total visible. Prepare your cube view for the chart and configure its labels so the message is easy to understand.
Open a cube view in a book and change its visualization from Exploration to Pie. Arrange the dimensions, remove the extra total member from the selection and enable the labels you need.
Open a book under Reports and Analysis and add your prepared cube view. Then choose Pie as the visualization type. Check which dimension defines the slices and which context is selected. In the video, I swap the time and product dimensions and remove World from the region set so only the individual continents are shown. Enable percentage labels and member names in the visualization settings. Place labels outside the chart if needed. The video also displays the total in the centre.

IN PRACTICE
A total should not appear as an extra slice alongside its own components. Check the selection before interpreting the chart.
Use the regions whose shares you want to compare.
Percentages and member names identify the slices.
The proportions refer to the selected data context.
COMMON QUESTIONS
World aggregates the continents in this example. Adding it as another slice alongside those continents would count the same values again in the displayed total.
No. You change how the chart displays the values. The underlying cell values stay the same.
Yes. A synchronized selector controls the product selection. See Filter charts interactively.
