Select. Keep. Swap.
Select members, narrow a view or swap rows and columns: short text commands let you control your cube view in IBM Planning Analytics Workspace. The video introduces Select, Keep and Swap.
The short answer
Open the snap command field in your cube view and type a command. Select selects members, Keep retains named members on rows or columns, and Swap exchanges rows and columns. These commands are typed.

For example, type “Select World” to select the World member. Use “Keep” followed by a suitable member name to restrict the members displayed on rows or columns. Use names from your model.
Swap rows and columns
Type “Swap” to exchange the axes. Then check the layout and selected context of your view.

Three commands for everyday navigation.
The examples use the member names World and Germany. Replace them with the appropriate names in your cube view.
Select World
Selects the World member. This is not a general command to automatically expand every country.
Keep Germany
Keeps Germany in the corresponding row or column hierarchy and hides other members.
Swap
Swaps rows and columns without changing cell values.

Any questions?
Are these spoken commands?
No. The snap commands described as voice commands in the German video are entered as text in the command field.
Can I select several members?
Yes. Separate names in Select with commas or “and”, for example “Select Germany, France”. Use names that match your view.
Does Keep delete the other values?
No. Keep restricts the visible selection. The data remains in the cube.
