Change values by a percentage.
Adjust every detail.
Percent change spreading in TM1 increases or decreases existing values by the same percentage. Planning Analytics adjusts the affected detail values – for example, increasing sales volumes across several products by 10%.
The short answer
Select the cell or range and open Percent change. To increase values by 10%, enter 10 and choose Add. To reduce values by 5%, enter 5 and choose Subtract.

One percentage. Three new values.
Try a change across three energy-drink products. These simplified example values start at a total of 6,000 units. Each entry is applied to these original values.
Positive increases the values; negative reduces them.

Set the percentage and action
Right-click to open the data spreading options and choose Percent change. Enter the percentage. Add increases existing values by that amount; Subtract reduces them.
Apply and check the result
Apply the change and expand the underlying members. Compare a few detail values and the total. For example, a 10% increase changes 1,000 to 1,100.
THE ACTION MATTERS
Entering 10% does not always mean +10%.
The dialog first calculates the percentage amount. Your chosen action determines how it is used.
Add 10%.
1,000 becomes 1,100. The percentage amount is added to the original value.
Subtract 10%.
1,000 becomes 900. The percentage amount is deducted from the original value.
Use 10% as the new value.
1,000 becomes 100. Replace keeps only the calculated percentage amount.

How does this differ from proportional spread?
Here you specify the change as a percentage. With proportional spread, you specify a new total to distribute using the existing proportions. View proportional spread ↗
Will zero values increase too?
No. A percentage of zero is still zero, so a percentage adjustment alone cannot create a new sales volume from a zero value.
Why do some values stay unchanged?
Check the selected range, write permissions and rule-calculated or held cells. All values in the example are writable.
Can I use an entry shortcut?
Yes. IBM documents percent change with P%. The existing video transcript instead says R%+10. Use the shortcut shown in your spreading dialog, or apply the change directly through the dialog.
